Flatout Hungry Girl Foldit Flatbread 100% Whole Wheat with Flax – Product Overview

The other day I ran into some of these Flat breads while at my local WalMart. I usually grab some low carb pitas or low carb tortillas while i’m at the store for something to make a breakfast burrito or a sandwich wrap. I had never seen these in the store before, so I thought I would give them a try.

After making a few wraps and sandwiches with these, I have to say that they’re quite good. They toast pretty well, and they keep their texture with things like lettuce and tomato on them. I’ve had it happen before where my low carb wrap would split apart after getting wet from the juices. After toasting these flat breads, they kept their shape and kept the majority of my food inside. Anything that fell out was most likely due to me stuffing them too much (which I am prone to do).

Nutritional Info Overview:

My only qualm with these is the relatively high carb content. As you can see here, they have 15g Total with 7g of fiber, which results in about 8g of net effective carbs. My usual wraps usually have 4-5 carbs in them, so they are a little bit higher than other options. However, like I said before, they are quite easy to work with and they flavor is enjoyable. They taste like pretty much a regular piece of flat bread.

There is a wide range of things you can do with these flat breads. You can see in the picture above that you can make grilled cheese with them. You can even make pizza.

I’ve even used them as a burger bun.

I recommend these for people that are looking to be on a low carb diet, and even possibly on a keto diet. The only thing with these, as I mentioned above, is that the carbs can add up pretty quickly. If you eat even three of these in one day, you will already be at 24 net carbs for the day, which could easily knock you out of ketosis, if that’s what you’re going for.

I will have one of these wraps a day. Either with my breakfast or with my dinner. A breakfast sandwich in the morning, or something like a grilled cheese or even a burger bun in the evening. These would be great for sandwiches too, I just haven’t made any.
